[What is Teuida?]
Teuida is a multilingual speaking-practice app that helps learners speak their new language with confidence. Through first-person, interactive video simulations, learners practice realistic conversations with native speakers and build confidence by making mistakes in a low-pressure setting. [What You’ll Do]
You will design and complete a Chinese course for English speakers from the ground up. Based on Teuida’s learning design framework, the FC (Foundation Curriculum), you will plan the curriculum, turn it into lesson scripts, and lead the process through filming, QA, and release. You will collaborate with Teuida’s in-house video production team on video content and review edited videos and graphics.
We are looking for someone who can use their language expertise to build a fun and natural learning journey for English-speaking learners of Chinese.
1. Curriculum Planning
• Design a Chinese course for English-speaking learners based on Teuida’s educational philosophy and the FC
Plan content that reflects the characteristics of Chinese (tones, characters, pinyin, etc.) and the learner’s level
Define learning objectives and key expressions for each unit
2. Lesson Script Writing and Review
• Write lesson scripts and virtual conversation scripts based on the planned curriculum
• Review scripts for natural Chinese, accurate English explanations, and alignment with Teuida’s teaching approach
3. Talent Casting and Production
• Find and cast approachable, clear-spoken tutors (who deliver the lesson explanations) and actors (who perform the virtual conversations)
• Check and direct tutors’ pronunciation and delivery on set
• Review and give feedback on edited videos, graphics, and subtitles (SRT)
4. Scheduling, QA, and Release
• Plan and manage the production schedule (planning, scripting, filming, editing, upload)
• Upload content to the admin (CMS), run in-app QA, and give a final check on whether the design intent and learning experience are delivered before release
We are looking for someone who can design Chinese learning journeys in a structured way and carry them through to finished content.
• Able to communicate and work in English
• Advanced spoken Chinese proficiency
• Experience designing foreign-language learning content or curricula, or equivalent teaching experience
• Understanding of the challenges English speakers face when learning Chinese
• Strong understanding of Chinese culture and modes of expression
• Strong communication skills for working smoothly with a variety of partners
[Employment Terms]
• This is a 12-month contract position, with the possibility of extension or conversion to full-time based on performance evaluations.
• Salary: Negotiable based on experience
• Visa sponsorship available (E-7 or equivalent)
